On a quiet Sunday in September, we were burning our trash and an accident changed our lives forever. Waylon was critically injured when an aerosol can exploded in while putting the garbage into the fire. Waylon suffered burns to his face and needed to be intubated immediately. But during that emergency—through no fault of the EMS providers—the wrong size equipment was used.

Waylon survived. But his accident exposed a painful reality:
Rural emergency systems are often not equipped to handle pediatric emergencies.

Waylon’s Warriors was created not to assign blame, but to fight for better.

We are a nonprofit dedicated to improving pediatric emergency care in rural communities by focusing on:

  • 🩺 Access to life-saving pediatric equipment and tools

  • 🎓 Education for rural EMS, ER teams, and community responders

  • 💼 Advocacy for better standards, training access, and funding

Because every child—no matter where they live—deserves to be met with readiness, skill, and hope in an emergency.

We are inspired by Waylon.
We are fueled by love.
